Game Theory in self defence part 1

The modern "Equalizer" ? Skate board as a weapon.

I started working the skate board up as a weapons system through choy lay ft gung fu maybe 26-27 years ago. and I've finally put the first bit of it to film.

This is one of those things that just might go somewhere, so I'm glad it's copyrighted. If there's an interest, I can take the system much further than what is presented here. The damned things make for incredibly versatile and effective self defense weapons.

David

New Videos

So the sad thing is I pulled down my old youtube channel just as youtube decided to feature me....and that is why retreat is amonst always a bad strategy (See game theory on strategy).
But, we're working our way back with some new no-spin throwing vids.
I've been working no spin for years now as it is really the only combat / home defense applicable form of knife throwing.
Enjoy.

Out of the ring-

Well, while I mostly feel alright with many things I say publicly, It has become all too clear that I can't tell when writing when I slide into a bad part of my mind. I have good days and bad.
For the foreseeable future I will be staying out of the public arena. I had sort of decided this a week or so back but felt that I could at least stick to my good days.
Whatever service I have been able to be to my nation or community is for better or worse at it's end.
I feel a need to teach and to help, but I think it has become far too clear that I no longer have enough control of my mind to be a useful part of public discourse.
I am of course still trying to get better but my hopes are somewhat limited.
None the less,
Good bye, good luck and gods bless.
Hopefully I'll be back at some future point.
I've never lived a quiet life, but clearly now is the time to try.

Spring into action

Finally I found them. People like myself who aren't suicidal enough to want this continued passive invasion of America and are doing something about it legally. I'll thank the New York times for the link if not for their never ending support of the "No Borders" view of America.
In the end, I think it comes down to this for me, if America is not allowed to be a sovereign then no one else should be allowed to be either.
Still, happy to see someone out there getting something done on the legal side of things. I doubt honestly that such actions will do much in the short term to reverse the last forty years of non-declared civil war in this nation , but it's a start.

The dis-loyalty clause? The first purpose of government?

The first purpose of government is to secure it's own existence. Barring that, it can serve no one. When that system of governance become a war of two opinions, two parties...perhaps through greed grafted into one...what may the people who serve them do ?
Perhaps resort to the city state?
And what is the state of our city?
Will it sustain us?

What is a pagan anyhow?

To answer the question we have to go to the Latin , and basically a pagan is a red neck. Christianity being most easily enforced in the cities of Rome with the rape of priestesses, generally gang rape and usually
to the death...but the old gods persisted in the country where christian mobs could be put down, and they persist to this day.
In the modern day, a pagan is a white person, called to the gods of the blood, their heritage, thier ancestors.

It should come as no shock that after decades of the once lesser races ranting on about their heritage and culture, whites began to do the same. A Black foot shamaness is not a pagan, she is a spiritual force for her people in her own right, but she is not a pagan, I am not being racist here, just honest...odd how the two have come to be confused. The path of the goddess of any goddess calls only to the blood, their blond...though like all things, minorities force themselves in and try to rule. Only in Europe do true covens of any size exist without Christians, jews and minorities mucking things up. It is a war in it's way, for they have the right under law, though we do not have the same. In sheer point of fact, American whites are never allowed to gather in private and the constitution be damned. Every coven with which I have worked has been destroyed in spirit by the forced inclusion of others once the coven got large enough. It is not surprising that Europeans point and laugh at American pagans, as I do myself. Better alone before one's gods, than corrupted before them. I no longer raise covens as I have no right under law to protect my spiritual belief, or tho9se who share it.
We are a persecuted people, and that is the American way the land of the fee and the fine....not of the free.

David

We do bye the way have a ton of fun....but knowing how to dance helps.

okay so I'm a huge SJ Tucker fan....what can I say we are a musical sort.

Back to the future?

So in yet another admission of the utter failure of the Americans govt., we are re hashing urban farming. Way past time I think...as we urbanites are going to suffer most from the failure of governance.
I want chickens...BTW I love fresh eggs and they fry up well. Welcome to Somalia America...you did it to yourselves...and no one can stop you .We may yet become that dot on the map that has a name but no real worth...or perhaps we have and we're just too stupid to know it. Anyhow, BACK TO T?H?E FUTURE...our nine year olds should be in the mines, they have way too much time of their hands.
Peace,
David
When the unions go, everything that they gained go with them, I for one look forward to it, everyone should have their own nigger, spic or honky...I could use one to help with the cleaning and I have room in the basement.

The I don't know thing?

Perhaps it's a male thing, or maybe just a human one...but the admission of ignorance and or the ability to form new ideas around new knowledge sometimes comes hard to me. I find this doubly annoying as I have and have had for years a personal habit of judging my views and actions against my basic morals. Surprising how often I find myself in the wrong ;)
Don't get me wrong I'm a pretty informed person, I make a concerted effort to be one. But I am and always will be ignorant of some things, that's the downside of not being a God.
Still, and as such, I'm looking to bring in a new poster or two...administrators I guess they're called. I have one in the wings who leans more to the right, so I'll be looking for one of those damned lefties to even things up.
I'm a brawler personally, it's not the only way that I learn, but it helps.
So let's see what changes.

David

Technique of the week 3- Elbow strikes.

For those who don't know, I'm doing techniques of the week in an order, first the basic stance, 2cnd, the most basic and useful blocking technique , third a very effective close range striking technique. Next week hopefully the camera is up, and I can add in the next blocking technique, and the week after basic foot work.

Who is minding the store?

It is a sad thing to admit about my gender, but many men are a bit put off by a string woman. And yet, this is a traditional family value.
I have woodcuts from the 1800's showing a man teaching his woman to shoot before going off to war, and both western and eastern culture are replete with the self sufficient woman archetype.
If a mans home is his castle, then what of the queen?
Can she defend the castle in his absence? and if not, why not?
Is it some sick modern dependency, some inner fear of a strong woman?
Growing up, mom kept a .38 special on her person, dad beat her, he was a complete ass of a man for all that he was an American hero, but in his absence, she knew her way around defense. As did we kids, I once wounded a man wo broke into our house t the age of eight with that same .38 special.
So, who is minding the farm?
Do we come home to find our castle raped and pillaged, or defended?
How m7uch do we care?
With a dozen guns in the closet and our machismo in full fling, do we think about training our women to use them. Or do we harbor thoughts of mastery and heroism that die in the light of reality?
blessings,
David

How much is that $3000.00 gun worth if she can't use it?

A common tongue - a common thread?

Let's face it , thanks to massive outside interests and a lot of national self interest we will not see a national or even state language requirement, but at the city level this is within our means.
Let's explain the need.
Out side of hate and anger the primary reason for adopting a shared common language is simple, it allows all persons within the bounds of the nation, state or in our case city to communicate with one another which at present is simply not the case. As such a true communal understanding is simply not possible. We do not share residency, we simply co-habitate. The difference is massive, and acceptable in dictatorships where the say of the common man is of no value, but in a democracy?
Arguably at this moment in time 25% of Americans can not speak English period.(Figure includes the elusive illegal alien and may in truth be a low ball).
This means in essence that 1/4 of the nation simply CANNOT communicate with the other, much less share rule or responsibility.
I would like the see a common tongue for Easton as a matter of city code, which is within our power. I would like to see us empower both ourselves and our fellow immigrants to communicate as a matter of law. To save the racism argument, I'll let my fellow citizens sort out which language, I'll be honest in saying that I'd prefer English, despise Spanish but would accept it to solve the issue...maybe Dutch , Miene Duetchse Ist nicht sher Gut... but I'll make the effort.
If we cannot speak a common tongue, we cannot share a common thread. We sadly will not within at least my lifetime see one at a national level, but we can do so locally. With fines, and such to ensure it's enforcement in the schools, work places and daily life our all of our neighbors.
This I think is the first place to start. I don't think any of you too stupid based on your race, or ethnicity to laern whatever we decide on as a shared tongue, and having to print everything in only one language will save us all some serious money. Esperanto maybe? Linguist from other nations have suggested that this failed because no one enforced it...we could be the first. I ask no one to include myself to give up the tongues of their culture... simply to make a knowledge and use of a shared tongue law in all transactions and public venues within the city of easton.
Peace,l
David

Islam, the next communism? Why?

9/11 found me on the phone frantically truing to find Jeanette only to find that she was in California. I spent the better part of the next 48 hours on the phone working with state, and federal agencies to come up with a multitude of plans to limit the anti-muslim violence that Many believed would sweep the country. Thanks to the actions of many on all sides, and me just a bit , that wave swept over us with far fewer casualties than had been expected. Most not surprisingly non-Muslim. While our many hate groups and radical Christians seem to have an unlimited ability to hate, they seem to have an very limited ability to properly identify targets. Many of those attacked were Hispanic, Sephardic Jews, Sihks and even a few Asians. Were it not for the sheer tragedy of the matter the ineptitude would be laughable. Then of course we went to war, and the door closed to folks like myself who actually gave a damn about things like truth and co-operation. Granted I wasn't horribly concerned at the time, her not so close brush with death, finally convinced her to give me a whirl and well the rest as they say is history. Within months that canary yellow letter came in the mail asking me to go play in the big sandbox. It was our first big fight. The contract that came with that letter was signed, the bombing of the city where she spends most of her time hit a chord of bitter hatred in me that I didn't truly know I possessed . Killing was on my mind and I knew the work. In the end though that contract never got sent in. I stayed here while friends went off to fight and die and for a while my anger kept me from seeing what a horrible over reaction the whole mess was. I guess like most, I thought it would be another Desert shield, well, that passed, the years passed I built a business, kept up with my other responsibilities though the calls became fewer and fewer. The phone did not ring over the Mosque issue . Had I been paying better attention, I might have noticed the real change in our nations stance on the issue. I had my own issues. Oddly the only time the phone has rung since the fire was over Marcellus shale. Not over the environmental issues, but over double checking every resource to see if any rumbling of terrorist acts from the extreme right against the drilling had reached my ears. Priorities had changed, but so had I.
Still, the question remains, do we really hate the Muslims, or is this just the next smoke and mirrors? I must say I think it the latter. I am coming to believe that pretty much all of this has in the end simply been a machination , one in which I have despite myself played a small part.
For that I apologize.
Blessings,
David

Lcoal volunteerism with some national support?

Sorry Pa Citizen corps doesn't have a video. I am wondering if there is a demand for / option for citizens corps, CERT, VIPS here in Easton. Technically I believe we have a VIPS (volunteers in Police service) though in three years here I've never heard anything about them. I'm more towards CERT myself, but we'll see what the future holds. With luck the Citizen Corps state leader should be getting back to me within a few days.

External camera's which is best for you?

By and large money dictates what camera system we will own or install. From a wired high end camera systems to wireless single cameras that you can find on sale at sites like WWW.sportsmansguide.com , or a small pack at Sams club. The idea of course is to deter burglars , drug dealers and such and possibly have evidence for the police in the event that something bad does happen. For those who don't know, a camera system can get you a percentage off of your home owners insurance. It doesn't exactly pay for itself, but it doesn't hurt.
What ever the case cameras are worth their weight.

Technique of the week 2- slapping block

My camera has been acting up , so I've chased down the best youtube video I could for this technique.
Having assumed the basic stance discussed in technique of the week 1, a stundent can then begin to practice the slapping block or pk sau.
This instructor is good, he goes a little further into the offensive use of the pak than I would care to when building a system from the basic stance, but it's the best I can find. Once I've sorted my technical problems out, I'll throw up my own version of the pak, modified through kenpo.

Prepper's, survial is not just for nuts anymore-

http://www.ready.gov/america/index.html

From the Ready.gov website- FEMA, DHS
You may need to survive on your own after an emergency. This means having your own food, water, and other supplies in sufficient quantity to last for at least three days. Local officials and relief workers will be on the scene after a disaster, but they cannot reach everyone immediately. You could get help in hours, or it might take days. In addition, basic services such as electricity, gas, water, sewage treatment, and telephones may be cut off for days, or even a week or longer. ---

To be fair, this stuff is sort of a no brainer, but in the wake of ever dwindling city , state and federal response resources needed to fill the budget gaps left by keeping the rich well, rich. At least the government is finally admitting that we may be all alone if something bad happens. We're not talking about stocking guns and ammo like some nazi survivalist from a bad 80's movie, but a direct warning from our govt that in the wake of disaster we will be on our own for a time, and an indirect command to be prepared for it or suffer the consequences.

That is what happened to us after the house fire, the red cross put us up for two days, and what was in the safety box was what we had to eat as the credit cards all burned up and we had little cash in hand. It would have been ugly otherwise, with no ID, and as working folks unable to get any assistance from the state in the short term. Money in the bank granted, but no way to get it. It was ugly . Luckily we planned ahead or a truly bad situation could have been much worse.
It is unfortunate that basic planning ahead has come to be linked in the minds of many people with the extreme right and such, but be that as it may the day may come when you need to be prepared for some big or little emergency and if you aren't, it's going to suck to be you.
Peace,
David

Bread and circusses? Do our political parties even matter anymore?

At one point or another pretty much all of us have watched pro wrestling. I haven't since I was a kid, but this is what our elections most remind me of.
Just as gaudy, just as stupid, and more likely than not just as fake ?
When was the last time any of us really believed that we were voting for anything but the lesser of two evils?
Not in my life time, not for me at least. And yet there seems a great deal of collusion between the two.
And despite public animosity a great deal of common interests.
Have our political parties abandoned us?
Did they ever really represent us in the first place?
Or is it all just spectacle and misdirection ?
As most of the nation falls into near third world status, the rich get richer and the middle get poorer, can we really believe that our parties have been or ever will be of any true value?
Is it all just smoke and mirrors?
And if it is can we do anything about it?
Just some thoughts,
David

diversity at work?

So a friend sent me this and by the gods I needed the laugh. My friend of course is a 6'5 WW2 vet who picked up Karate, Judo and Aikido in Japan during the occupation. He's not the guy in this video, but close enough for goverment work.

Some equality?

So the justice department has announced that they will no longer legally support the defense of marriage act. About time really, but until congress repeals the law, we're still stuck with it. The implications of course are a bit staggering, gay people gasp might actually start getting treated like the rest of us. The right wing is of course all a flutter, other than using it to make us look at anything but where are money keeps going, why exactly do they care about what consenting adults do with each other?
Still, at least it's a step forward.

David

so what do you do for fun?

To the surprise of some, the martial arts are more exercise or habit for me than fun, though I do love to work with weapons like the sword or spear. I love to shoot, cook, paint, read, research, hike, climb, play with my dogs, play cards (though I don't gamble), throw knives, spears swords, just about anything really. I enjoy building, working with fire, an assortment of things.
So what do we in Easton do for fun?
Just curious,
David

Should we kill the union?

Let's be honest, there are huge flaws in the way that many of our unions hobble Areas like Easton by making it hard if not impossible to get rid of employees that fall critically short of the mark. The other side of course is the thousands of lives, millions of dollars and such that have been spent to make the union possible. With the unions come things like child labor laws, 40 hour work weeks, health care, the ever dwindling middle class.
Many states are now considering gutting social services and hobbling collective bargaining in what can only be called a national class war.
Of the many problems to be dealt with are giving those in public service the means to receive decent compensation for basically making the country run on every level, and giving us the citizen some say in disciplining and removing problem aspects.
We as a nation wait and watch and wonder how this will impact us here if this becomes the new national standard?
To make my own stance clear, my answer is no, we absolutely should not kill the Union, but changes must be made.
Peace,
David

Urban Survival ?

It is one of those odd things as more people live in cities that anywhere else, and yet we city folk don't think on urban survival. They have plan to jet off somewhere in the wood, far away from we who stuck in the cities will become little but ravening monsters.
I'm of the opinion that cities can be made to function in the unlikely event that the nation truly collapses. Suburbs as well for that matter, What does anyone else think?

David

We'll leave a light on...for safety

Perhaps one of the biggest thing s we've done to improve our block was the installation of a handful of spot light on the exterior of the house. One on the side to kill the dark spot that a couple of would be snatch and grab kids used against us to try to get our cell phone on our second day here in Easton, one in the front yard to illuminate the side walk and a few out back after we found a neighbors teen aged child in our back yard looking through our windows.
These things don't happen to us anymore.
We use, standard walmart outdoor spot light, (about four buck a pop) and CFL flood lights (about nine bucks a pop- but way cheaper to run all day and night than standard ones).
All in all about a hundred dollar out lay and maybe fifteen extra dollars a month on the electric bill and we are far safer than we were and our block is as well. Lighting has been proven to cut down on crime and it is a very cheap solution to a nasty social problem. So if nothing else folks, leave the porch light on, 24/7 if you must.
Thanks,
David Caines

Under priveleged , over privelged and what the hell is privelge anyway

I was talking to a friend before about how much this concept of being "Under" privileged just really chaps my hide.
Like most Americans, I've earned every single thing I own, have a mortgage or car payment on those things I do not yet own, and yet some how there's this concept that I'm privileged.
I've always thought personally that this is just a justification that criminals use to get something for nothing and yet the idea has caught on to such a degree that we find the word in use in everyday life.
And I'm sorry but I just don't get it. I've been poor, still pretty much am or I would not be living in the West Ward (lets call that spade a spade), I've been among the working homeless, I've been abused in pretty much every way a child can be , and yet somehow, I don't deserve what little I've managed to work for and hold onto?
For no greater reason that A) I was born White, or B) someone just wants someone else to blame for their own bad choices...or wants what I have without doing the work, I get the joy of being called privileged.
So I'll ask anyone one out there who cares to do so to explain how this word applies to me or anyone else like me?
I'll add that as a veteran, I've earned my freedoms such as they are as generations did before me, so let's get into this, after millions of dead, trillions of dollars and rivers of blood to make this nation what it is how is it that Americans and myself as one of them are privileged?
Just wondering really.
Peace,
David

Technique of the week 1

So, in an effort to get myself up and about, I've decided to start posting a technique a week from PDK's woman's self defense art "Leben und Totten".
I'm probably going to be staying a bit outside of politics except for where I truly feel the need here on HOE as I feel that NOE does a fine job of keeping up with such things.
Still attacks on women in Easton have been a bit more noticeable lately and this is my area of expertise, so why not?
Thanks,
David

Martial/ fighting arts- home defence

If you are a home owner in Easton, then you have certain concerns, not the least of which are burglary, home invasion, assault, rape...well all of that. For most of us the answer would seem to be the hand gun and it is the wrong answer.
Even with a castle law now in effect in our state, the hand gun is a bit overkill, usually hidden , and likely to kill your children more often than the bad guy. A firearm takes years of training to be a valid defense or otherwise becomes a liability.
Hopefully we can get into this deeply. In an effort to incite discussion I will post my youtube Chanel -
http://www.youtube.com/user/sidiagung?feature=mhsn
Let's see hwere we go from here?
Blessings,
David

The difference?

While I am a big fan of NOE, I find that it is a bit to renter friendly for me. A little too far into the huggy feely left, though to be fair Noel does make a real attempt to be fair. Still, I think that for most of us the issue is "Renters". By the gods, I am surrounded by them and while they are better than they were, we constantly dread the next one. We don't look forward to the summer, we don't look forward to having to chase off the drug dealers again.
SO, what are your thoughts on home ownership in Easton, all of Easton not just the west ward.?
What are your issues? Your solutions?

Blessings,
David
