Who is minding the store?

It is a sad thing to admit about my gender, but many men are a bit put off by a string woman. And yet, this is a traditional family value.
I have woodcuts from the 1800's showing a man teaching his woman to shoot before going off to war, and both western and eastern culture are replete with the self sufficient woman archetype.
If a mans home is his castle, then what of the queen?
Can she defend the castle in his absence? and if not, why not?
Is it some sick modern dependency, some inner fear of a strong woman?
Growing up, mom kept a .38 special on her person, dad beat her, he was a complete ass of a man for all that he was an American hero, but in his absence, she knew her way around defense. As did we kids, I once wounded a man wo broke into our house t the age of eight with that same .38 special.
So, who is minding the farm?
Do we come home to find our castle raped and pillaged, or defended?
How m7uch do we care?
With a dozen guns in the closet and our machismo in full fling, do we think about training our women to use them. Or do we harbor thoughts of mastery and heroism that die in the light of reality?
blessings,
David

How much is that $3000.00 gun worth if she can't use it?
